In February 1778, Mr.schwartz visited Palayamkottai for a marriage. On that time, he baptised Clarinda Ammaiyar on 03.03.1778. She started to build a church in Palayamkottai in the year 1780 and completed in 1785. This is the first Christian origin in Tirunelveli district.
In 1803, Rev.Kohloff came to Nazareth and purchased the land for Nazareth Church and school for Rs.28.
Initially, Nazareth was known as Shanpathu and Christianity was originated by Rev.Satyananthan in 1803. After that, the name Shanpathu was changed as Mudalur. In 1803, the first church was built by Rev.Satyananthan together with a building by using palm tree leaves and the second church was built on 20.11.1830 by Rev.Adaikalam. Later on, the new church which is existing at present was founded on 26.05.1924 by Rt.Rev.E.H.M.Waller and dedicated by Rt.Rev.Norman.H.Tubbs,the Bishop of Tirunelveli on 12.03.1928.
From the church, many Christian organizations were growned up and existing until now.

The gospel (good news) message recorded in the Holy bible is that jesus Christ came down from heaven to rescue people and restore their relationship to God.
This is how God showed his love among us. He sent his one and only son into the world that we might live through him. This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his son as an atoning sacrifies for our sins. (1 John 4:9-10)
To receive Jesus flesh and blood means that you accept the sacrifices He made for you as the atonement of your sins. You have to receive the blood of jesus by faith and believing the gospel message.
How do I know that jesus will accept me?.
If you have a desire to come to jesus, then that is the voice of God, the Holy spirit, calling you to Him.Jesus says, "No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me drawshim; and I will raise him up at the last day. It is written in the prophets, 'And they shall all be taught by God'.

Lord Jesus,I believe that you are the son of God and became a man to suffer and died on the cross to pay penalty for my sins. I believe that you rose from the dead and alive now, and you are the Lord of universe. I confess that I have sinned against you and people, and I pray that you will forgive me and wash me throughly with the blood that you shed on the cross. I pray that you and God the Father, Holy spirit, will come and live in me and I will live in you. I give my life to you to do your will and not my will. Please give me the faith to believe all the promises that you have written to me in your Words the Holy bible. Lord Jesus please baptize me in the Holy spirit and fill me with your presence. Please give me the strength and the faith to accomplish plans and the destiny that you have for me and give me the courage to be a witness for you. Please fill me with your love and compassion.
